Important New Discovery.
Contrary to the Darwinian myth that Darwin coined the phrase ‘living fossil’ in 1859. He never did. The phrase was in fact coined 147 years earlier than previously believed by Welsh scientist Edward Lhwyd.
Here on Best Thinking, everyday throughout November, I am publishing a newly busted myth, or newly discovered fallacy, which is currently being disseminated by the on-line encyclopedia known as Wikipedia.
I am highlighting Wikipedia’s unreliability and dreadful quality of information in protest against its deliberate policy of facilitating and refusing to halt engaging in stealth plagiarism of information from the unique work of expert authors.
At the time of writing, Wikipedia’s senior editors refuse to cite Best Thinking as a reliable source, yet Wikipedia regularly plagiarizes the original content on this site to pass-off my unique myth busting discoveries as though they are discoveries made by its own replicators who refer to themselves collectively as ‘Wikipedians’. Wikipedia passively sanctions this self-serving fraudulent behavior in order to conceal its unreliability and pervasive myth-mongering. (Click here: for the full story).
Myth replication on Wikipedia 24th November 2013
Replicating non-expert Wikipedians typically do no more than take ideas and discoveries made by others – expert and non-expert alike, and merely reproduce them without the know-how to check the veracity of the copied content.On 24th November 2013 Wikipedia is mongering the credulous Darwinian myth that Darwin coined the phrase ‘living fossil.’
Myth
"The term was coined by Charles Darwin in his 'On the Origin of Species' [1859] :These anomalous forms may almost be called living fossils; they have endured to the present day, from having inhabited a confined area, and from having thus been exposed to less severe competition.’ "
Fact
Darwin habitually gave the self-serving impression that he had coined pre-existing terms and phrases, which explains why faux-sceptical Darwinists have got so much of the history of natural selection and the origins of its nomenclature completely wrong.
The term ‘living fossil’ appears in the literature at least as early as 1712 (page 506) and so the Welsh Botanist Edward Lhwyd (1650-1709) is uniquely revealed here on Best Thinking to dismiss the pervasive Darwinian clam that their hero originated the term.
